Selecting the right tankless water heater

The tankless water heaters are usually rated by the highest temperature that they can attain at a particular rate of flow. It is therefore imperative to establish the temperature rise or the flow rate when choosing a tankless water heater. This write-up looks at some of the steps that should be considered when selecting the right tankless water heater;

Step one

Firstly, determine the total number of the devices that you need to run and the total flow rate. After establishing this, add up the rate of flow which can be expressed in gallons per minute. The figure that you get is, therefore, the desired flow rate. This is what you will need from the tankless water heater.

Step two

Secondly, determine the expected temperature increase. To determine the expected temperature increase, you will need to get the difference between the desired output temperature and the incoming water temperature. Unless states always know that the incoming water temperature is ten degrees Celsius. If you live in a warmer area, this figure might be higher. In most cases, the water is usually heated to about 100 degrees Celsius. This, therefore, means that the water heater will be expected to produce a temperature rise of about 90 degrees Celsius.

Step three

Thirdly look at the size of the tankless water heater. An average shower uses approximately 2.6 gallons of water and is heated to between 104 and 106 degrees Celsius. For instance, if the water temperature is about five degrees Celsius and you want to produce hot water that will run two showers at the same time then you will need like 30 degrees Celsius to run this.

Flow rates

The flow rate is a major factor to consider when selecting the right tankless water tank. One of the questions to ask yourself when choosing the right tankless water heater is the amount of water that you need at any given time. Some people might need more than one shower to run at the same time. There is a chart which outlines the water usage and the average eater temperature for the different fixtures.

The water heaters have the capability to produce a larger temperature rise. It is therefore important to seek professional advice when choosing a tankless water heater. Most of the modern tankless water heaters are those that are rated for different temperature.
